The twin who drank more slowly died because the ice was breaking and one of the sips were choked with ice and drowned.
The married couple and the plane crash:
Carol did not react because while watching the film had been asleep, and indeed it was all a dream. She never had taken her husband to the airport and never had any airplane crashed.
