Yes,there are. For example, Catalan, Euskeda and Gallego.
What, if anything, is done to protect the minority languages?
The Catalan government helps keep the Catalan language implementing policies to encourage its use. For example, Catalan is compulsory study in schools and required, to work in the Catalan administration.
What are your opinions on this? I'm agree. I think it's necessary if we want to preserve the language. Language is part of the culture of a country.
