If I’m walking in the mountains for a weekend, I would take a good waterproof jacket to wrap up myself if the weather is bad and good pair of boots to walk. There cannot be absent a good tent to pass the night; sleeping bag for if it is very cold. I’ll need a stove for cooking and also cannot forget to take matches to light the stove. The compass will be necessary for if I get lost. And finally a rucksack to carry all of this in.
