Levi Strauss Co was founded by Bavarian immigrant Levi Strauss and, after his death, de company held by descendants of the familiy.

In the 50 years, actors like James Dean, who starred in the Rebel Without A Cause, and the seductive Brigitte Bardot influenced the look and the attitudes of young people at the time. Through images like theirs, the blue jeans became synonomous with rebelliousness, danger, and most of all, a generation fighting to break away from conformity.

3. Any other interesting facts about the history of jeans
The inventor of riveted pants, Mr. Davis, joined Levi Strauss to oversee the manufacturing of the first "waist overalls," known today as blue jeans.

Originally, the jeans are called “waist overalls”, it was the usual name for work trousers. This is because the early pants was designed to literally be worn over the street clothes.

In 1960 people start to use the word “jeans”, when the baby boomer generation adopted this name for its favourite pants.
