Is modern technology a good or bad thing?

For exemple, mobile phone, digital camera and laptop computer are useful for travel, work and for call people but people use modern technology for things that aren't necessary to use it.
People have to live a real life and not a virtual life using these instruments.
A moderate use of them is necessary to have a good life.
