I think in a job interview it's important the work experience you have for developing the job. You have to have good qualifications and try to be the best in your job if you want to impress the interviewer. But in the interview your appearence and the way you express your ideas is important too. If you are the best student of your promotion but you don't have personality perhaps you can't stand out. You have to demonstrate you aren't another more. And studies aren't the most important. Social skills are essential too.
