1. Films and you.
I think that teenagers and old people go to the cinema more often than the rest. This hobby is clearly related with the spare time, and booth collectives have relatively more free time. They usually go on weekend and one afternoon a week, when the ticket is cheaper. Families with children usually buy or rent DVDs. And surprisingly, there are a lot of people who see TV programs. Really during the weekend the TV offer is worse than the rest of the week.
2. Your favourite films.
I like romantic films and comedies. I think this is better than tragedies and dramas. However I saw some films like “Schlinder’s list” that are really good film. I strongly dislike terror films, and I don’t like violence scenes.
3. Films from your country.
I remember when a friend of mine, Marta, met a French cousin of her, and we went to the cinema to see “Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios”. Obviously this happened a lot of years ago, I was young, and I recognize that I was suffering during all the film, thinking “What he is going to think about Spanish people?”. However then I enjoyed a lot the film and really I like it.
The Buddy Allen’s film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” has a lot of great images of Barcelona, and from the north of Spain too, from Asturias. Again I was embarrassed because my mum and my daughter were with me and the plot was a little bit disappointing. I really don’t know if they understood well the plot of the film, basically the unusual relationship between the main characters. I think that everybody expected a lot of awareness to the city of Barcelona, above all in United States, but really I don’t know if this objective was achieved.
