I agree with Karl, although Tash is right in some concret aspects, for example when she says that people spending a lot of hours looking at computers and they're not actually going out and talking to people any more". Pehaps she's a little exaggerated but she has a part of reason.

I can think of more arguments in favour of modern technology. It has improved the quality of people's lives. Technology gives us more free time, more comfort and with Internet we have more information than our ancestors. Against, technology has made us more egoist and drives away from the nature. Also, it generates waste and spoils environment.
