Yes, I think that charities are a great idea when they don't substitute public organization or service that one state must offer to the population.
In this moment, we see that, in every country where the corona virus appears, the big problem is how to give assistance at everyone. For 40 years, The National health service, everywhere has been privatized and now it' s a catastrophe. Faced to the pandemy, we understand that an hospital is not a society , it's not an enterprise , it shouldn't be a business..
Charities like the charity for raising funds to give at a group of poor people, a group of children etc.. are a good thing
