1.I come from Catalonia, in Spain. The most common names here are López, García, Martínez, Pérez, Rodríguez, Fernández, Sánchez... The catalonian names aren't the most common, becouse a lot of people in Catalonia came from another places in Spain.
2.My family name isn't common. It's a catalonian name, Renye. However, my mother's family name is one of the most common in Spain: Fernandez.
3.My family name doesn't tell me nothiny about my family. I don't know wich is its origin.
4.My name doesn't mean nothing, but there are a lot of names in Catalonia that refer professions, like Fuster, Mercader... or places, like Tarragona, Vilanova, Aran.
5.I don't know it. I think that Gonzalez perhaps is a mexican name.
6.It deppens if the person I meet is younger or older than mine. If he or she is younger, I can call him or her by the first name, but if is older, I always call this person by his surname, with a title. Mr. López, Mrs. García...
7.I think people uses only the surname at the High School (students) and in the big enterprises (employers). This happens becouse if all of them uses only the surname, all seems equal.
8.In my language, we use words like "carinyo", "bitxo", "amor"... that means tender or love.
