Torquay is within easy reach of London and the main air and sea ports from where there are fast and efficient links by road and rail.
By Air:
If you are flying to England then we recommend that you book a flight that arrives in the morning or early afternoon and departs in the afternoon or early evening. London Heathrow is one of the most convenient airport at which to arrive. You can catch the Heathrow Express train to Paddington and then catch a connecting train to Torquay. If you arrive into Gatwick airport you can catch the Gatwick Express train to Paddington station and then a connecting train to Torquay. Or you can take the National Express 501 bus direct to Torquay.
Local airports are situated at Bristol , Exeter and Plymouth . There are now several international flights to Bristol every day and some to Exeter. Flights to Bristol and Exeter are operated by British Airways, Easyjet, Flybe and Ryanair.
By Coach and National Express:
Coaches from London Victoria, London Gatwick and London Heathrow leave several times daily for Torquay and are reasonably priced. You can take the Heathrow Express from Heathrow Airport to London Paddington. It departs every 15 minutes and takes only 15 minutes. This is the fastest way to travel between Heathrow and central London.
A frequent train service operates from London Paddington to Torquay.
P.S.: If you come by train then you'll find the last bit ot the journey (after leaving Exeter) is stunningly beautiful as you travel right along the coastline. It's one of the best train journeys in Britain. By Eurostar:
This service is ideal for anyone wishing to travel from Paris, Brussels, Lille, or Calais. Transfer by taxi or underground from London St Pancras to London Paddington.
By Ferry:
With up to three cross channel ferries a day from Roscoff in France to Plymouth, which is only 50 minutes drive from Torquay it is an easy way to come to Torquay by car or we can arrange a private escort service to meet you at the ferryport in Plymouth and bring you to Torquay.
