2. My family name is not so common here in Barcelona but is more common in Tarragona.

4. Now, I only remember a family name which referes to professions and it is Foners. Forners in catalna is a baker in english.
5. There exist names from other countries that are common here but usually they have an autoctonous name here, I'm talking, for example, about Paul which is said Pol here.
6. When you meet someone for the first time you use the first name. You know uou can use their first name when they ask you to do it or when there exist a close relation.
7. Yes, we use it at work, with friends with same surname or at school. I don't know which is the reason to do it but in the case of friends. Sometimes it is used the surname intead the name to refer to someone who has same first name as another to make difference between both.
8. "Peque" is an example of a common pet name to show affection.

1. I com from Catalonia and most common names for women there are Montserrat, Nuria and Mireia. For men names more used are Marc, Pere, Oriol and Jordi.
2. My family name is not very common in Barcelona, but it is more common in other places of Spain. For instance in Murcia from where my family com from.
3. No, I’m afraid not.
4. No, it doesn’t but in Catalonia there are typical names which refer to professions as Fuster (carpenter) or Sastre (tailor).
5. There are more often foreign names which become more popular in Catalonia because the immigration as: the Chinese Lee or the Arabian Said. All them sound very nice and make also a nice variety of cultures.

7. In formal language we use Mr. and Mrs. But in school for example , this term is not used by teachers to call their pupils.
