Names, surnames, nicknames

My name is Conchi. My parents named me after my grandmother, who was called Concha. Both names are short of Concepción, a religious name I don't like in any shape or form. I would like to be named Claudia or Raquel, and sometimes I've been thinking in changing my name, but it's a very annoying issue.

My surname is Romero. It's a common surname in Spain, specially in Andalucia. I think it cames from Sevilla, but I'm not sure. In Spanish there is an herb named "romero", whose translation in English is "pilgrim" or "rosemary".

My mother usually calls me "chiqui", a pet name invented by herself. In Spanish there are a lot of common pet names such as "cariño", "corazón", "amor" or "cielo". I don't like to use that pet names with my family or friends, because I prefer to invent nicknames for them. For exemple, I have a friend named María and I like to call her "mariquita" (ladybird in English).
