My family name is López, a frequent family name in Spain. If you look for it in the net, you can read than it comes from the first name "Lope" and that it is was usual in the middle age in Spain. There is a great number of families without any relation between them.
My second family name is Alcalá. For this surname the genealogy is concreter. In the net you find it comes from Andalucia occidental and my mother's family are of there.
If you search my complet name in the net, you can find a lot of people, part of them are of my family, but I haven't found any person whose name is completly as mine.

Hi, clopez,
I've just read your text. I think you have one of the most common family names in Spain. There are also family names that are very popular, such as Garcia, Fernandez o Martínez.
But it depends on the place that someone lives.

Nice to meet you,

Paula
