Local names originally denoted the proprietorship of the village. Curiously, Teixeira name, my middle-name, is a derivative of Portuguese and Galician teixo ‘yew tree’ (taxus).
I searched on Google and Yahoo browsers, but I could't find people with my whole full name, Raquel Teixeira de Sousa. I just discovered similar ones such as Raquel Souza Teixeira. On the other hand, both names,Teixeira and Sousa, are often used together. António Teixeira de Sousa was a famous doctor from the North of Portugal. He was also a writer and a deputy whom was given a chair of last constitutional monarchy of Portugal. Another personality bearing the same name was Henrique Teixeira de Sousa, a famous writer of Cape Verde.
