Women and work

Nowadays the women working situation has changed a lot for the last twenty years; nevertheless there are a lot of things to improve, and for this is necessary the collaboration of men. Working women want changes that will strengthen families and built respect for work, are working long hours, often on irregular schedules that do not mach those of their partners, and in some cases without health security and financial retirement, this is a very important point for the legislative agenda, women are very concern about it. Women need a solid support from the government to assure their rights, we want strong action laws to assure equal payment for equal jobs, to avoid discriminations on jobs, to support them in the family care.
Of course there are high differences between countries and cultures, in some places there are not respect for the woman, they do not have any right and is treat as an animal, a lot of men and women are working to change these situations. There are a lot of examples of important women that change a little our lives as Benazir Bhutto, Madame Curie, etc.

Dear Mª Angeles Subias,

I agree with you that currently women situation has changed a lot the last twenty years, and also I think that is important to have equal salary for equal jobs. But in Europe, and Spain in particular there are women in important position, for example, Ana Botin is a Bank President, and Maria Garaña Conces is the President of Microsoft in Spain. However, there are more men than women in high work positions. There is a long way to achieve equal rights between men and women around the world.

Esther
