Sherlock Holmes wasn’t a real person but he was very popular.
He was the protagonist of four novels and fifty-six relates that they are possible to find in the “Holmesian Canon”.
He was created in 1887 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The fictitious person is the prototype of a calculating investigator. He was tall, thin, ironic, and sometimes brusque (but never with women …between women always polite…).
His most important characteristic was his real reasoning to resolve the most interesting cases.
