Unit 4. About where you live.
I live in a small town near Barcelona. It’s named St. Vicenç dels Horts, because it’s surrounded of vegetables gardens. I live in a little house of 3 storeys. Although I don’t have a garden, the house has 2 terraces where I have some plants.
It’s not very typical to live in a house in Barcelona, it’s more usual to live in a flat. The reason is the money, since to buy a house in Barcelona is really expensive. Nevertheless, it is typical to live in a house in the villages around Barcelona. In fact many people in my town live in a house and that’s the reason why many of them have moved from Barcelona.
I like to live in my town because it’s very calmed, there’s not so much stress than in the Big City, and people is more calmed and relaxed.
Many things have changed. Now, I have new friends who live in my town but I don’t meet my friends of Barcelona as frequently as before when I lived there. I also spent much time to arrive at work because arriving at Barcelona takes me 50 minutes more or less. On the other side, I have a lot of space in the house because I didn’t have much when I lived in the flat in Barcelona. To live in this town is very relaxing, people is very calmed. It’s like arriving to an oasis.
I don’t intend to change anything by now, I’m very pleased of living in a small town.
