I have been looking for about my surname’s history on internet and I have found some interesting things. My family name is “Rodriguez”. It is a common surname in my country and it is distributed by all Spain.
I have read on internet that this surname derived from Rodrigo’s name. There are people think that “Rodriguez” is based on the King Rodrigo but others persons believe that the surname comes from the Visigoth King Rodrerich.
It is thought that the origin of the “Rodríguez” is Asturias, to north of the Peninsula.
I have found on internet some pages which speak about “Elena Rodríguez”, one Chilean pintor.
