I don't think I would ever employ a private investigator. Of course, you never know what it could happend in your life. My consideration is just about my personality. I'm not jealous (and i think this is one of the most important reason why people request this service), i've never been in strange situations and I'm not a spy. at the same time I don't think I could be a good investigator. It's such an interesting and fascinating job, I know that, but I'm sure, I could not solve any misterious situation or important case. I cannot understand when a friend pull my leg, I really can't imagine a situation in which I should try to find evidences and put everything together... My mind is not good at doing this kind of things. Absolutely not a job for me!
