How long have aborigines lived in Australia?
It’s not easy to know how long the aborigines have lived in Australia. The first data comes from the first adventurers diaries but there are several proves that 125.000 years ago some kind of civilization lived in some of the little islands around Australia. Today, around the 15% of the Australian population is aborigin.
When did Europeans come to Australia?
First Europeans came to Australia in 1788.
What happened when they came?
They brought a lot of european diseases that killed a lot of aborigines because their bodies weren’t ready for that kind of virus. Smallpox was specially cruel with them.
What is a didgeridoo?
It’s a musical instrument that looks like a very large trumpet. Its sound is so funny and so strong. It was used by the aborigines for some kind of rituals.
Indigenous art of my country.
The most typical indigenous art of my country is in the Altamira caves. In its walls you can see primitive draws of hunting, dancing and some other habits and it is one of the most important archeological sites in Europe.
