In Catalonia the common names are: Joan, Josep, Jordi for males and Maria, Carme or Nuria for females. I don't know other people with the same family as mine, well what I've said isn't correct because the major of Barcelona city had the same family name as mine but I only know him by newspapers and tv.
In Catalonia there are names that refers to professions like Pastor, Moliner, Sabater, ...
My family name means firstborn.
