1. An experiment

My experiment was a disaster.
I didn't think that our language is sexist. And I must also be sexist too.
First I asked them to draw a truck driver, a doctor, a nurse -"un camionero, un médico... o una médica, una enfermera and... ejem... un profesor de guardería".
Immediately I told them to forget what I said.
Next I asked them to draw people working in a hospital, in a nursery and driving a truck.
But they had already realized the end of the experiment and they drew women as doctors and truck drivers, and men working as nurses or kindergarten teachers.
We discuss the issue and agreed that things have changed, but there are still differences and gender discrimination.

2 In your country

Until the twentieth century, the vast majority of women did not have access to employment. Their occupations was confined to the domestic work.
Forty years ago, women agreed to universities and perform skilled jobs.
Now, the situation has changed completely. Women make all kinds of work and they can carry out every job with efficiency and responsibility.
There was not a capacity problem, but a problem of inequality, discrimination and lack of opportunities.

The gender gap refers to systematic differences in the outcomes that men and women achieve in the labor market.
These differences are seen in the percentages of men and women in the labor force, the types of occupations they choose, and their relative incomes or hourly wages.
The gender gap in earnings has decreased substantially since 1980, but Whether or not the gap will continue to narrow and eventually disappear is uncertain and probably depends on gender gap in time spent in child care and in the home.
