In Catalonia there are a lot of common names like Maria, Marc, David...
My family name is not very common. It is Gost, there are a few people with this surname.
As in English, there are a lot of surnames about professions: Fuster, Ferrer.
I think there are some names from other countries in my country like Alex, Kevin... Now there are common.
In Catalonia is used the form Sr or Sra (like Mr or Mrs in England) but only in formal. Do you think the same?

I think there are some fashion names in Catalonia which are repeated a lot. This is the case of Maria and Marc-as you have said-. Nowadays are the most common catalan names.
My firt surname is very popular in Spain 'Martínez', but on the other hand, my second surname is very uncommon 'Crespiera' and I don't Know exactly where it comes.
There are some catalan surnames refered to an old and new professions such as Mercader or Escuder.
Also, there is a tendency to use names from other countries, especially from England or the USA, such as Kevin.
We only use surnames with the title 'Sr.' or 'Sra.' in formal situations because we generally use the Cristhian name.
There are also some pet names in catalan language such as 'cari','carinyo' or 'bitxo'.
