Tehere are two possible origins for the family name Ayats found on internet:
The first one, which I already knew, tells that my family name has a catalan origin. It was born in the village of Beget, in the Ripollès. It is a very ancinet name (the first Ayats we can found is from the nineten century)
The second one tells that Ayats probably comes fron “hayat”, what means a verse of the the Koran. So the origin of the family name can be the arabic invasion of Spain in the eight century.
