Most of my friends draws have shown the same way. They've drawn a man in the pictures of the truck driver and the same in the doctor's one. And they've drawn a woman in the pictures of a nurse and the same in the kindergarten teacher.
In my country there are several jobs that have been traditionally or men such as, bus and tucks mechanics, cement masons, concrete finishers and terrazzo workers automobile repairers,... And there are other jobs that have been trditionally for women such as, dental higienists, perschool and kindergarten teachers, secretaries and administrative assistants, child care workers, hairdressers, hair stylists and cosmetologists,...
Things are changing slowly but not in all jobs. Anyway, I believe there are jobs that segregate themselves based on the more natural abilities of each gender. I thing it isn't a bad thing.
Searching in Internet I found this interesting paragrah: A close look at the earnings of women and men who work 40 hours or more per week reveals that the wage gap may actually widen as the number of hours worked increases. Women working 41 to 44 hours per week earn 84.6% of what men working similar hours earn; women working more than 60 hours per week earn only 78.3% of what men in the same time category earn (Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics).
