The common names where I come are Montserrat and Núria for girls and Josep and Pere for boys. Nevertheless I read the other day that last year Marc and Laia have been the most popular names for new borns.
Rivero,is my family name and I don't think is very common. As far as I know, it comes from the North of Spain. Last week I went to Ikea. While asking for my kitchen budget two more Rivero's kitchen budgets appeared, funny isn't it?
Concernig to the question if my family names tells anything about your family, my anwser is no. Although Rivero and Baughman which are my father's and mother's family names respectively, are refered to river, we have nothing to do whith rivers.
In the last years and due the inmigració, names like Mohammed, Hassan and Khadija are are becoming more common.
I normal use sweetie, budie, pumpkin or princess to call my children.
