Hello guys, I'm Xavier and I can tell you my name is common in my country, Jordi, Carles, Josep and Antoni also. In some cases our surnames have a direct reference to a profession or an origin, like Carnicer, Ferrer and Cerdà. When you meet somebody in a informal way you say usually just your first name, but in a formal way you always say your tittle and complete name, like Mr. Alistair Jenkins. In reference to a pet names or similar names to show affection to somebody is very common carinyo, xata, bonica, that´s the same all around the world, I think.
