I'm Artur from Portugal.
The most common names in my country, i think, are João, Antonio, Manuel, Pedro for boys and Maria, Joana, Ana, Paula for girls
My family name Sousa, is a common surname in my country and i don’t now the origin of the family name.
The name is not associated to any trades or professions.
In Portugal, names of trees (Pereira, Oliveira, Carvalho, Figueira), shrubs (Silva, Ortiga) or animals (Carneiro, Coelho, Leitão)
Normally, we call him/her by their title followed by the surname.
The most common words that we use to show affection in my country are: Gata, Doçura, Amor, Fofa, Querida.
