Kumiko in Turkey

This story is frankly hard to believe, but I couldn't confirm it's not true. I think that some japanese tourists can have an strange and uninformed idea of Europe, and after all Turkey is almost an European country. I mean that maybe Kumiko just knew some topical places in the continent, as the Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, Gaudà or the famous Pera Palace Hotel in Istambul, and not exactly where they are. But as someone in the Noticeboard has said, is hard to understand how anybody can cross from one part of the world to the other one, and don't realize that England and Turkey aren't at a three-hours train trip distance... Luckily, I can't remember I had ever been in such a ridiculous situation.
