The fastest way that I've found to go to Torquay is by train. There are two companies giving the service from London. The First Great Western timetibles are quite fast: there's a line departing at 18:00 from Paddington Station in London that arrives in Torquay in just 3 hours and ten minutes, with just one change. But the other company, The Trainline, offers a better timetible, faster than First Great Western's. This train departs also from Paddington Station at 10:06, and arrives in Torquay at 12:52, so the journey takes 24 minutes less than with the other company.
