The Pallaresa lizard (Iberolacerta aurelioi), is the species of lizard in the Lacertidae family; endemic to the central-eastern Pyrenees.
Its distribution is endemic Iberian, of Pyrenean mountainous nuclei; from the confluence of Spain, France and Andorra. Its exclusive area is the county (called comarca, in Catalan) of Pallars Sobirà, in the province of Lleida; in Catalonia (Spain).
Its habitat is the alpine zone (between 2,100 and 2,940 m altitude); in glacial cirques, on well-sheltered rocks with good sunshine.
The main threat is the destruction of their habitat (by hydroelectric farms, ski resorts, construction of shelters); poaching and the modification of alpine vegetation or Pallaresa biota are threats as well.
