Good and bad food

Good and bad food

The truth is that I've never paid too much attention to studies appearing in newspapers about food. Most of the time they talk about just one study, and I have the feeling that the next study they are going to talk about is going to be in contradicition with the one I'm reading at the moment.

Anyway, looking for information in the Internet made me realize the little I knew about some ingredients in my daily diet.

First of all, don't ask me why, I had the idea that olive oil was bad in some way. But it turns out to be like the perfect ingredient. Not only is it good for reducing cholesterol, it also helps to control hypertension among many many other good things. I don't know why it had that bad reputation for me. I've been only able to find just one article against it. No more articles to back it up. And it is from 2000! This article talks about vein constriction after the ingestion of this kind of oil. Never heard about it.

On the other hand I searched something about milk. I always had in mind that its calciun it's good for bones. But lately I noticed that more and more people around me refused to drink it. They say is for the fat in it, and the articles in the web seem to prove them right. But it seems to be good for you if you drink low fat milk.

I don't know. I just try to follow some big rules when I eat: lots of vegetable and fruit, avoid fat as much as possible, and try to balance the ingestion of protein and carbohydrates. I don't know if I'm right but I try not to get obsessed with it.
