In and out of fashion

c) In and out of fashion.

You don’t have to be very observant to realize that tattoos and body piercings have spread substantially among the population in Spain. That tendency is regardless of age and gender (but the tendency might be almost restricted to working and middle-class people, though.)
Most of them get what they call a “tribal tattoo” which is basically a symbolic pattern whose meaning they ignore. They may also choose some eastern characters that stand for their names or their mothers’ or offsprings’. This election is made exclusively based in aesthetic factors. In general, they don’t have a special interest in eastern cultures or languages. (That means that a tattooer could have teased them and they go all over the place with “I’m a prick” written on their left arm.)
I’ve also noticed, lately, a dramatic tendency among some teenagers to wear baggy jeans below their arse. This allows the underpants to be seen (I suppose that’s the point, but I’m not sure.) Some of these teenagers might combine this aesthetic with the practice of skateboarding. I don’t have a clue what music they listen to.

Well, I agree that tatoos are coming up. More than this, I think that tatoos are fashionable not only in the teenagers because I am 35 years old and I have a lots of friends, who aren't teenagers, and most of them having children, who recently have decided to make a tatto in their bodies, sometimes are big tattos taht cover most part of thier back. I don't think that they take part in a specific urban tribe, because I know different people, who like different kind of music, from diferent social group who like tatoos. Defenitely, nowadays I think this is a big tendency.
