I live in a very populated city, Barcelona, which I am not sure it represents how catalan social groups behave. I guess every local enviroment has a way, Barcelona has its own way. We do have a social division based on age: old people, young people, middle-aged...We do share with english going on 40s people with a very young attitude who seem to be resisting to grow. They love going out, they have a very active social life and therefore, this lifestyle leads them to postpone other things we would generally assume they should be caring about such as have a couple, have a family, have a houes...as you can see these new youngish middle-aged are switching having for enjoying, possession for fun; it may sound frivolous, but it not, it's just less materialist, altough more hedonistic.
