I live in Barcelona but when I want to disconnect from work, I love to go to the mountain to walk and to hear and feel the silence. Once a month, I take the train and after the 'cremallera' to go to the Montserrat mountain. It's not so far away from Barcelona city and it is possible to go with you own car, but you have to leave it a little far away from the monastery and you have to pay the parking. This mountain is around 1,230 metres high and the views from it are incredible. There are differents routes to go around the mountain and to visit different places: fountains, hermitages, etc. But the most important for me is the feeling of being surrounded by the nature. If you don't want to walk a lot, you can do shortest routes and to have lunch in the restaurant. It is possible too to sleep there and to attend to different religious services during the day.
