I have been searching the Internet for two different news sites in English. Finally I have found the following:
- The Times web
- The Sun web
Both newspaper are from the UK.
1.There are a lot of differences between the articles of each newspaper: first of all, the general tone of the article of The Times is more serious than the one of The Sun which is written using more colloquial vocabulary. Moreover, in the general context of the newspaper, the contents of The Sun are more "folk" than in The Times because the majority of the articles are related with rumors of famous singers and actress, a Burberry painted house or a car made of chocolate. On the contrary, in The Times newspaper the content of the articles are politicians, economic and environmental problems and only a few articles are related with "pink press".
2. I find easier to read the article of The Times because there are the typical texts that I have been reading during all the years I have been studying English. The more colloquial vocabulary of The Sun and the use of more contractions in the grammar structure made me feel more uncomfortable regarding these points.
3. From my point of view, people who want to find news with rigor and in a more serius context will read the articles of The Times. On the other hand, people who is more interested in spending their time reading news about gossips they probably buy The Sun newspaper.
