The Adriatic Sea during a storm

My worst trip experience was more than ten years ago, when my family decided to visit Croatia during the winter hollidays.
We left home early morning and we expend first day in the road, arriving at night to Florence, Italy. The next day we visit the city and the cathedral, but we couldn't enjoy de famous Michel Angelo's David because it was being restored. In the afternoon we drove to the city of Ancona in the Adriatic Sea. There we had a reservation of a room in a night-ferry to Split, but we were misled by the ticket seller and we had to spend the night in the seating room. The following was the longer night I ever passed. Early in the night a great storm arose and great waves begin to beat and shake the ship. All of my family got dizzy and feld sick- I couldn't sleep and I tried to get fresh air on deck, but I get back because it was really difficult to move: the floor was moving up and down, I saw people climbing the stairs on all fours.
When we finally arrived to Croatia we were still dizzy a few hours, and after this horrible experience we decided that, although we had paid the return ticked, we would came back by car.
