In June we took a flight to Valencia, Spain. The airport is quite close to the city and well connected by underground. We had our hotel in the middle of the very nice and clean old part of the centre. One day we visited the scientific area with the new built Océanografico, a museum with different aquariums where animals from all over the world live - a lot of different fishes, penguins, whales, dolphins and seals among others. Every ocean has its own aquerium with the natural inhabitents.
Another day we visited the new built zoo, which opened his doors in February of this year. It was very impressive to see the new ideas to build areas with animals who live together in nature. The animals don't have only cages, but real areas where they live and have enough space for themselves.
We also liked the green area of the Turia Gardens where the river Turia flew before he was bypassed around the city. Visiting the tower of the main Cathedral we had a nice sight over the roofs of the whole city.
The only area that wasn't worth a visit was the harbour area and the beach.
If you visit Valencia, choose it as a city destination and not as a bathing destination. Then it's realy worth a trip!
