Are computers necessary?

When I started working in an office, there were hardly any computers and not many secretaries knew how to work with one. In the meantime, an office without a computer is unbelievable. It makes your work much earier and faster. But, because of new programs, it is obvious that you always have to learn in order to stay up to date.
On the other hand, now, computer skills are already tought at school so that also children learn how to use a computer. The smaller they are, the earier they learn it. The problems begin, when youngsters pass more free time behind their screens instead of going out and play with their classmates. They stay in their rooms and chat in the internet instead of having a discussion with real friends. They are not capable of having a friendship to anybody, because they prefer to build up their own world in a chatroom, where they can pretend to be, who ever they want to be.
In my opinion, parents should limit the time of access to the computer, depending on the age of a child. Adolescents should limit themselves by setting an alarm clock and stopping when their time is over.
Internet in general is a good thing. When you need information about anything, you can find it in the World Wide Web. But you have to know that there are thousands of pages about every topic you can imagine. When you do some investigation, it is best to limit your time of research. If you don't do that you spend hours and hours and forget about real life, which can be at least as interesting as any cyberspace.
