Write about a local festival.

At the end of May a traditional and popular food feast has been celebrated in Lleida for 40 years, l'Aplec del Cargol, in a space prepared by the town hall in the Campos Elíseos.

From Monday to Friday, cultural, theatrical and musical events and havaneras as in Sant Pol de Mar, are organized.

During all the weekend the different groups of friends, the 107 (one hundred and seven) collas, are dedicated to cooking tons of snails and grilled meat, and drinking beer and wine.

You can participate as part of a colla or by paying a fee to eat snails and meat.

It is recommended to wear the uniform of the colla and a good apron to eat for two days.

I like snails and grilled meat, but not the gathering of so many people. During the days that l'Aplec del Cargol lasts, some 200,000 (two hundred thousand) people pass through the festival zone and they eat 12 tons of snails with aioli and bread.

I prefer to prepare the snails and grilled meat quietly in my country cottage with my family.
