I actually live between two cities. During week days I usually stay in Lisbon, where I work and at weekends in a small fishing town on the southern part of the Lisbon’s estuary, in Montijo.
I live in flats in both places and in Lisbon I also have a garden on the ground floor of the building.
People living in flats is very usual inside cities in Portugal. In Montijo buldings, as almost everywhere in the country, are made of concrete, with not more than four floors and surrounded by gardens. Lisbon, due to lack of space and cost of the land, has more higher buildings and considerably less green spaces.
I like living in both places, being both so different.
In the capital I enjoy having more access to culture and better transportation.
In Montijo I love being nearer to the country side, the river, the beaches. I have more space in the flat as well. Since I was the one who decorated it, I try enjoy every minute when I’m at home.
After six years, I begin to feel a need of changing the colors of the walls. Only that because since I am not in my house during the week, I still have the feeling of having everything new from the store, witch is actually great.
