Holiday destination in my area

The funny thing is that, to me, living in one place usually makes it more difficult to get to know it. I know several people from Barcelona who hasn’t visited “La Sagrada Familia” ever, and doesn’t know some historical facts about the city, for example. I’m sure there are some interesting places I’ve never been, or even heard of, around here. And it is ironic that, whenever I take a trip, I tend to “fill up” on as much information as possible about my destination.

Anyway, even though I think I’m not the most qualified person to talk about places of interest in my area I will talk of one place I visited with some friends of mine just for the weekend, like two years ago. We followed the in thing at the moment (I don’t know if it’s gone out of fashion by now): rural tourism.

We went to Casa Miralles (http://www.casamiralles.com/index.asp?lng=ang), and old farmhouse from the XIII century, who actually belonged to some of my own ancestors.

The house is a good place to stay with swimming pool, lots of rooms (it is meant to accomodate large groups of people), a game area, and surrounded by tracks to go treking if you’re into it.

To get there you have to take the highway from Barcelona to Manresa. Once you are in Manresa you have to head for Solsona, and detour to your left past Cardona.

You can see lots of things to do at the same web link I just wrote some lines above. Specifically, there are two links on the page menu where you can get as much information as you want: “activities” and “interesting places”

I remember going to the salt mountain and the castle of Cardona. Both were totally worthy but I would’ve liked to practice some horse riding or Paraglidging, too. But as I just said, we stayed there just for the weekend.

Hope you enjoy if you take my advice
