Different languages
Yiddishis a non-territorial High German language of Jewish origin. Unlike other Germanic languages, Yiddish is written with the Hebrew alphabet as opposed to a Latin alphabet. It is the language spoken by the Jewish Community of the Central Europe and it was developed in the 10th century. Her syntax and her lexical are from German, but it borrows words from Slav languages and from Hebrew. It almost disappeared with the Holocaust.
