1. Foreign languages at school
I supose that I choose the Chinese language for many reasons:
- One in five people in the world speak the Chinese.
- China is the third largest country in the world.
- With the increasing global and economic importance of China, it is important to understand the Chinese language in order to gain access to information available only in Chinese, to increase the level of understanding and gain a deeper knowledge of China.
- With the increasing number of Chinese tourists in Europe, it is important to know more about their background and their culture.
- Also, in the job market it will become more and more of an asset to be able to speak and understand Chinese.
2. Disappearing languages
I think the culture must to preserve and never a language should be allowed to die. To revive the language the government of Lep could to teach the language to other member of the community as a language at school or doing courses. Also, they can made movies, computer games, music and TV shows in minority languages.
3. In your country.
The majority language of Spain is the Spanish, but there are other regional languages: the Basque, the Catalan, the Galician and the Aranese. They are co-officials in their respective regions, and I think they are not minority languages.
