Power kiting is today far from what most imagine it to be. We all know the image of the small child running around a field with a kite flapping and sometimes flying behind him. But nowadaysit is quite the opposite. The kite can pull the flyer around (who sometimes may end up flapping or flopping on his face). Be warned.... kiting is a sport which can become addictive (not that I'm complaining).

It started a over 12 years ago (June 1997) .... life was so simple then. After seeing a guy in Cambridge, England with a huge Flexifoil looking like he was having a great time, I bought an 8 foot Flexi. Life was fun, we just picked up the kite and the lines and went out to the field. A few weeks later another Flexifoil was needed so we could stack them. Then May 1998 I bought my first stunt kite - a Flexifoil Matrix. Now by this time a kite bag was needed. Then pairs flying seemed to be a pretty fun idea, so another Matrix was bought, and a Prism Illusion. Then the winds grew stronger, so smaller kites were needed. Enter the Flexifoil Psycho, Prism Fanatic, Flexifoil Xtro, then why not the Box of Tricks as well as the Beetle for my niece.

Then the winds disappeared and a zero wind or indoor kite was needed so the next purchase was the Benson Inner Space, then why not the Outer Space, oh... and while we're at it, what about an ultra light Matrix. Another day browsing a kite store I was fortunate enough to pick up an Icarex Stranger cheap. (It's quite difficult to leave a kite store without a major purchase). Each of these kites have their own personality and their time to be used. There were a few other purchases but the are not worth mentioning here... if you know what I mean.
