2. I think non-interactive listenings are important because they provide me with many different topics, contexts and accents. Moreover, it is easy for me to prepare the class because they come with the tapescript and comprehension exercises. However from my own experience, interactive listening always turn to be more effective. That is why I only use pre-recorded listenings occasionally and I prefer to prepare a live teacher listening about the same topic. It provides my students with more control over the situation because they can make questions whenever they need any clarification and I can repeat or spell what they have not understood. I also have more control over the listening, which means that students get more involved. I can talk more slowly, use vocabulary and expressions adjusted to their level, use gestures and make questions to check if they are understanding me. I can also choose an interesting topic or talk about my own life and real experiences.
3. Apart from using some of the pre-recorded listenings of the course book, sometimes I play their favorite songs and we try to transcript the lyrics and understand their meaning. I also like to use role playing games, questions and answers´games and word puzzles. In all these kind of live teacher listenings I always give the students the opportunity of asking me questions whenever they do not understand anything and the same time I make them question to check what they have understood.
