CINEMA

I love cinema, but I have to recognise that the last spanish film I've seen is Agora, produced in 2009.

Neither the action develops in our country nor the cast is from Spain, but the director and the rest of the technical crew are spanish.
The film is set in Egypt under the Roman Empire. Is a period of violent religious upheavals in Alexandria's streets and this affects to the city's famous Library. Hypatia, a brilliant astronomer, fights to save all the papyrus kept inside because they carry the knowledge of the Ancient World. In the meantime, two disciples competes for her heart.

I think the screenplay, the photografy and the special effects are very nice and, because of this, the film was rewarded with several Goya awards.
