Kumiko?s story- Unit 5

Kumiko?s story- Unit 5

It's amazing!. I don't tink this story could be true. It seems like a joke!. I can' t believe that someone could have so short knowledge of Geography as to think that after tree hours on a train taken in London, would have arrived in Turkey.
It's absurd. Perhaps in Japan people like Kumiko, aren't used to prepare their journeys, but here in Europe people usually spend weeks preparing their summer holidays, and they know exactly where places are. I suppose....

Well, I don’t agree with Herminia, since I think that this story could be true. I worked in a tourist office and some tourists don't have any knowledge of Geography. Some of them think that Tarragona is an island and that Reus has a beach...So, this story wouldn't surprise me!
Relating to misunderstandings, I have lots of them, but then, I try to correct myself and that’s it. In my opinion, Turkey and Torquay have a similar pronunciation, so it’s too difficult that people understand you when you pronounce them.
A year ago, I had a similar problem because I couldn’t pronounce medieval! Tourists didn’t understand me, but nowadays they seem to do it, maybe I have learnt to pronounce it by practice!
