My name is Eva and I live in Catalonia, where the most common names are Montserrat and Jordi, which ones are the patron saints of Catalonia. These are catholic names like mine who was the first woman in the Bible.

My surname is “ de Gregorio”, that is not a common surname in my country . I love my family name because it is original , however, it has a disatvantage when I go to other country and I have to spell it. On the one hand for its length and on the other hand for the separated “de” that nobody understand and usually nobody writes it correctly.
In addition to this obstacle, when I have to look for my name in a list, I never know if it is ordered by “d” or “g”.

In Catalonia we have two surnames and is very common to join theirs by an “i”.

I come from a catholic country, so , our common names have to do with biblic names: Maria, Josep, Pere, Pau (which male and female meaning), Jordi,Montserrat....
My family name is one of the most common in my country: Pérez. We have a lot of family names that end with "ez", whic mean "son of" (in my case, son of Pere). I think it has jewish origins.
My name is not that common, so, althougt you can find lots of Pérez in my country I'm happy there are few Paz Pérez.
We've got a warm culture, that's why we like to use pet names with our family or best friends, for example: cariño, mi amor, mi vida...
